Day Two -30th July 2012

Alrighty then.

Today I implemented some therapy- for both the chickens and the dog -mainly for the dog. I tied the lead around my chair with its reach ending at the chicken run. I would spray her and say, “No, leave it” when she got a bit too excited. I don’t mind sniffing, but she was jumping on it, as you can see in the Day One video. So when she had calmed down I unhooked her. She was fine with the little hens but when the BR’s came out she wanted to play with them and wouldn’t come to us. The BR’s sensed this and stayed in the roost most of the day.

I used it on the hens not when it was a ‘move out of my way’ peck, but when two or more pecks ensued.

Media of the day;

The BR’s roosted but the bantams stayed in the nest box the first night. However today the BR’s blocked the nest box and showed them how to do it right;
