Day 62 -28th September 2012

So, today, we got our first eggs, I won’t show more than one picture as I will be making a “First Eggs” page. By the way, what do you think of my lessons page?

Anyway, here’s that one picture;

Hyacinth and Phoebe’s faces seem to have changed a little. Hyacinth is top of the pecking order and seems to be harsher towards the bantams when food is involved. I had to picked up the spray bottle again so the little ones could get some treat, too.

Ok, so to combat the wind and rain;

To reward the chickens for the eggs, I gave them sweetcorn;

Then, because I really wanted to reward them, I added mealworms;

By the way, this packet of mealworms is from a pound shop. Two of these packets fill an empty mealworm container that cost £6 when full. That means it’s 1/3 of the original price.

Here’s their reactions;

Olivia especially liked the treat;

She wanted to perch on the bowl;
